Terms of use

Last updated: 24 August 2026

By using explainmyquote.com you agree to this. If you don’t, don’t use the site.

Informational only

The site explains language that often appears on contractor estimates. It does not hire anyone, approve a bid, inspect a roof, or tell you a price is “fair” as a professional opinion. Output can be wrong, incomplete, or based on a PDF we could not fully read (scans, images, handwriting).

No professional relationship

Nothing here is legal, insurance, engineering, or contracting advice. You remain responsible for permits, licenses, contracts, and who you hire. Get a second quote. For structural, electrical, or plumbing work, talk to a licensed pro in your area.

Acceptable use

Don’t abuse the service, scrape it, or upload malware. Don’t use it to compete with or harass a contractor with fabricated “AI proof.”

Liability

The site is provided “as is.” We are not liable for decisions you make after reading a briefing, including signing, not signing, or paying a deposit. That is the deal for a free (and later, low-cost) consumer tool.
