This is a small site for homeowners who already have a contractor quote and want a clearer read of it before they sign or pay a deposit.
What we do
You pick the trade and drop a PDF. The free briefing runs in your browser: vague wording, missing items, and questions to ask. We do not get a copy of that file on the free pass.
What we are not
- Not a marketplace. We will not send you three contractors.
- Not a price oracle. The free pass does not say whether the number is “fair” for your ZIP.
- Not a lawyer, inspector, or license check.
- Not ChatGPT in a trench coat. The free pass is structured rules plus a glossary.
Who runs this
Explain My Quote is an independent product at explainmyquote.com. It is not affiliated with any contractor, insurer, or bid platform. A one-time paid full report is planned later — not a homeowner subscription.
