Process
How it works
You already have a quote. You do not need another marketplace, another “we’ll send three contractors,” or a lecture on getting three bids. You need to understand the paper in your hand.
1. You pick the trade and drop the PDF
Roofing, HVAC, kitchen, and so on. That only steers which gaps we look for (flashing on a roof, waterproofing in a bath). It is not a price model.
2. The free briefing stays on your device
The PDF is read in your browser. Text is scanned for vague phrases, payment language, and missing headings that usually appear on a serious estimate. Nothing from this free pass is uploaded to our server.
3. You get flags, gaps, and questions
Use them on the phone or in email. The point is a better conversation, not a verdict that the contractor is a scammer.
What this is not
- Not an appraisal of whether $18,000 is “the right number” in your ZIP.
- Not a license check, insurance check, or background check.
- Not legal advice, and not a substitute for a second bid or a home inspector.
- Not ChatGPT in a trench coat. The free pass is structured rules plus a glossary. A later paid report will use a model for a fuller write-up — still with the same disclaimers.
Paid full report (next)
One-time, per quote — not a subscription. It will add deposit/payment structure, allowance decoding, and optional two-PDF compare. Local “fair price” ranges only if we can show our sources. We will not pretend we have a live union-rate feed on day one.
